Newtown Neighborhood Guide
Newtown is the largest of Staunton's six historic districts. Its central location downtown makes it within walking distance to restaurants, shops, theater, cinema, historic churches, Mary Baldwin College, Staunton Public Library, and Gypsy Hill Park. Newtown is characterized by its diverse architecture including Federal, Colonial Revival, Victorian, Gothic Revival, and simple vernacular frame houses built from the 1800s to the early 1900s.
